DAY 1 St. Petersburg
Welcome to imperial St. Petersburg! Following embarkation and a traditional “Bread & Salt” ceremony, you will have the opportunity to meet your fellow travellers and afterwards enjoy this evenings dinner. D
DAY 2 St. Petersburg
Today during your bus city tour you will see some of the imperial palaces and stunning cathedrals of St. Petersburg. Visit the Peter and Paul Fortress, which houses the burial vault of the Romanov dynasty followed by lunch in a city restaurant. This afternoon visit the world-renowned Hermitage Museum, here you will see the Egyptian hall, War gallery of 1812, St. George Hall, Peter the Great Throne Room and a collection of Italian, Dutch and Spanish Art. Tonight will be an opportunity to see the Ballet on an Optional Tour. BLD
DAY 3 St. Petersburg
Today you have the opportunity of visiting Pushkin Catherine Palace + Park & Peterhof Lower Park on an Optional Tour. See the exquisitely restored Amber Room and stroll the formal gardens at Catherine Palace. Peter the Great built Peterhof, in 1720 which is located 29kms from the city on the Gulf of Finland. You will be taken on a guided walk through the beautiful gardens including the world famous gold fountains of the Grand Cascade, the centrepiece of this magnificent estate. BLD
DAY 4 Mandrogi
This morning, cruise to the traditional Russian village of Mandrogi to view some fine examples of wooden architecture. A barbeque lunch will be served ashore, where you have a chance to taste the Russian shashlik (kebab). BLD
DAY 5 Kizhi
Cruise along Lake Onega to the World-Heritage listed Kizhi Island for a tour of the Museum of Wooden Architecture with the iconic Church of the Transfiguration. The 300 years old multi-dome church is most noted for being constructed entirely without nails. BLD
DAY 6 Goritzy
Today you will cruise to Goritzy to visit the Museum of icons and the Monastery of St. Cyril on the White Lake, which was one of the largest, richest and most famous monasteries in Russia in 15-17th centuries. BLD
DAY 7 Yaroslavl
This morning visit the oldest city on the Volga River, Yaroslavl, a World Heritage site. See the Church of St. Elijah the Prophet and visit the 17th Century Church of St Nicholas the Wonderworker containing baroque iconostasis and frescoes depicting the life of St. Nicholas, the patron saint of commerce and traveling. Enjoy some free time at a local market before visiting the former Governor's House. BLD
DAY 8 Uglich
Enjoy a walking tour of Uglich, including a visit to the Kremlin grounds, Transfiguration Cathedral and the Church of St. Dmitry on the Blood, built on the site where Ivan the Terrible’s son was killed. BLD
DAY 9 Moscow
On today’s city tour you see many of the city’s iconic landmarks including the Red Square, the GUM, Cathedral of Christ the Saviour, Leningradskaya Street, Tverskaya Street and Novodevichy Convent. Tonight there is also the opportunity to visit the Circus on an Optional Tour. BLD
DAY 10 Moscow
Your tour today will visit the formidable Kremlin, the official residence of the President of Russia and the apex of Russian political power. Explore the Kremlin grounds with a visit to one of its historic cathedrals. You also have the opportunity to extend your tour, with an Optional Tour into the Armory Museum which houses an opulent collection of the famous Faberge Eggs and royal thrones, crowns and carriages.
