DAY 1 St. Petersburg
Welcome to St. Petersburg! After embarking your ship, you have free time before this evening’s welcome dinner onboard. D
DAY 2 St. Petersburg
A morning tour will introduce you to this grand, imperial city. Travel along St. Petersburg’s main boulevard, Nevsky Prospekt, and see many treasures including St. Isaac’s Cathedral, Palace Square and Monument to Peter the Great. BLD
DAY 3 St. Petersburg
Today’s excursion takes you to the renowned Hermitage Museum, located in the former Winter Palace and home to an astonishing collection of 2.7 million works of art. BLD
DAY 4 Mandrogi
Spend the morning cruising along intricate waterways and Lake Lagoda, before a arriving at the village of Mandrogi. Here villagers will greet you and you can admire some fine examples of traditional wooden architecture. With some free time before returning to the ship, you may like to visit the museum dedicated to the history of Russian vodka. BLD
DAY 5 Lake Onega & Kizhi
Lake Onega, Europe’s second largest lake, has many islands. One of the islands is Kizhi, home of the open-air Museum of Architecture, where you will see a range of wooden houses and churches including the famous three-tiered Church of the Transfiguration built in 1714 without a single nail. BLD
DAY 6 Goritzy
Continue cruising the Volga-Baltic Waterway before reaching Goritzy. Visit the renowned Kirillo-Belozersky Monastery, founded by Saint Cyril in 1397, and tour its historic grounds, many small wooden chapels and the Assumption Cathedral. Return to your ship for an evening departure. BLD
DAY 7 Yaroslavl
Founded in 1010 on the banks of the Volga River, Yaroslavl is one of the cities along the famed “Golden Ring.” Your tour will include the 16th century Spassky Monastery, and the Church of St. Elijah the Prophet containing many wonderful frescoes. BLD
DAY 8 Uglich
Cruising along the Moscow Canal brings you to another town on the Golden Ring. Uglich dates back to 1148 and has some of Russia’s most beautiful churches and cathedrals, including the Church of St. Dmitry on the Blood, built on the site where Ivan the Terrible’s son was mysteriously killed. BLD
DAY 9 Moscow
On arrival disembark for a city tour of the political and economic heartbeat of Russia including stops at St. Sofia Embankment on the Moskva-river; The Bolshoi Stone Bridge, the Cathedral of Christ the Savior, Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts and the New Maiden Convent. Stop at the observation platform of Sparrow Hills, Victory Park and Poklonnaya Hill plus much more! The remainder of the day is then at leisure. BLD
DAY 10 Moscow
After breakfast, visit the Kremlin, a potent symbol of Russian history and political power. Within this fortified enclosure of red brick walls and towers are many cathedrals and palaces, including the magnificent Assumption Cathedral, the main church of Russia and the Annunciation Cathedral, private church of the Russian Tsars. Return to the ship this evening for a farwell dinner onboard. BLD
DAY 11 Moscow
